Hi; My name is Peter but I'm known to many as Ianto, that's pronounced "Yahn-toh" It's a Welsh nickname I got from my involvement in medieval recreation. Which neatly brings me around to saying that I'm from Wales and living in California. I have always wanted to write and though I have a bunch of ideas or books, it's through on-line writing that I'm achieving my ambition these days..
Storytelling is another one of my enjoyments and I'm attempting to tell the old Welsh myth and legends through youtube.

Hi my name is Julia and I live in Southern California. I have always wrote stories, but now I am actually working on a romance novel. My novel is not the traditional kind, it actually examines modern elements of society. I am going to submit to several major publishers, but if they are not interested, I am going to publish it online. Honestly romance is not my favorite genre, I read it from time to time, but this is just how the story evolved. Perhaps this will just become a novel with romantic elements if none of the romantic publishers want to publish it. I also write on Hubpages, examiner, blogger.com, and my website sweetbearies.com.

Hello, Julia and welcome to the Inverted-A Forum. I am looking forward to hearing more about the novel you are writing. Even if you publish with a different press, or independently, please consider writing about your new work as it evolves in articles on this site, as it is an excellent way to get more exposure and share your experiences with other writers.

My name is Scott and I have been writing poetry for about five years. I have no definite goal to reach in mind through this, save my inexplicable desire for as many people as possible to read my work; I often wish my drive constituted more than simply that, as I feel it might be corrupting my thought process while writing. Maybe it's not, who knows. Nevertheless, I've realized over the years that the experience of writing poetry is as much of a necessity by which to sustain my life as is breathing.

This is a good place to share your poetry. I'm so glad you joined. I enjoyed reading your thoughts on equality, and the meter was exquisite.
I don't think that the desire to have what we write read by others is a corrupting influence. It's a desire that most writers share. As long as we don't alter our thoughts to suit the audience, I think it's all good.

Hey there, I am Chelsea I’m 28, I am a open minded fast thinking Gemini so Mercury Me fits just perfect. I am for the most part self taught, and about a year ago started writing poetry as an outlet for my anger. Wow, how it has blossomed into so much more love, hope, desire, science, healing, and the list could continue for a while. I desire, not fame, not fortune, I write for me and those who like to look at the world from a different view. I have enjoyed reading all the work on Inverted A, and am so honored to be here with all of you. Also, bare with me this is my first venture into the world of online discussions, and the first time I have let anyone besides my loving partner see my work. I hope to learn so much here!

Hi, Chelsea. I'm sorry I have not replied earlier. I am glad to have you here and am eager to learn more about you and your writing.
You mentioned that your writing is an outlet for your anger. What are you angry about?

Good Afternoon Katz,
About two years ago, I had an awaking for lack of better terminology(I changed and the experience is beyond words) and just began to see the world from a fresh set of eyes. It is as if before I was blind to the social injustice and hate in the world, so I began to write when I felt angry or upset. Now I have spent much time educating me I see the world for what it is and have genuine hope for a collective change, I feel the world changing. My writing now has developed into so much more; I am now writing short stories. Interesting new ideas along with old ideas and thinking patterns combined for a fresh point of view. I always here I cannot change the world alone but if I can open one mind to new ideas and challenge the status quo in the process well I am achieving and realizing my dreams. No longer angry however I appreciate those feeling being they are what inspired me to pick up the pen, starting me on this amazing journey.

Mercury Me, thanks for your reply. Each of us has some idea of how we would like to change the world for the better, but unfortunately not all of us have the same idea, and so we often pull in different directions. Which direction are you hoping things will go?

Hi everyone, I'm Samantha. Recently I've written some unique prose about my experiences with street life on the West Coast. I would describe my writing as consciousness-bending. I'm curious if anyone else would enjoy reading it, or if I could get a publishing deal. I am not really motivated to write more unless some one will read it, as the purpose of the written word is communication. I've been writing for a long time, but I've never had anything major published, so advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, Samantha. Sorry I didn't respond earlier.
In response to what you have asked here, I would say that in order to be worth reading, your contribution has to be something that you feel compelled to write, regardless of whether anybody wants to read it or not. If you are writing in hopes only of being read, and not because you have something you feel you must say, then it's probably not the sort of contribution we are looking for,
